Additional Trip Info

Fitness Requirement
This trip requires a moderate level of fitness. We will use 4x4 vehicles each day to search for pumas and can often get fairly close. But each encounter is different and we may have to walk 1-3 miles in a day to get to a cat or to keep up with a cat that is on the move. Although, not technical hiking, the terrain is undulating and footing can be loose gravel at times. Please also keep in mind that you will need to be carrying your own photography gear while on these walks.

What to Expect
Photographing pumas in the breathtaking region of Patagonia presents a unique blend of both challenge and reward. The vast, rugged landscapes, with their dramatic contours and stunning vistas, serve as the perfect backdrop for observing these elusive big cats gracefully navigating their natural habitat. During the early mornings and late afternoons, the soft, golden light enhances the scenery, creating an ideal setting for capturing their striking features and subtle movements in remarkable detail. Although daily encounters with pumas are virtually guaranteed, each sighting becomes a thrilling moment, where the intersection of wildlife and photography unfolds amidst majestic panoramas filled with raw beauty, the spirit of the wild, and the profound connection between nature and the observer.
