WHAT TO EXPECT
Nearly every bird photography has Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge on their bucket list…and for good reason. Known by most as simply Bosque, this entire region boasts tens of thousands of snow geese and sandhill cranes, thousands of assorted duck species, a healthy population of raptors and many other birds. It is a fantastic spot to photograph birds in flight and witness spectacular “blast-offs” of snow geese. The light in this area is also just amazing…with frequent colorful skies.
We will venture out each morning with a plan, but will make sure to adapt the plan as conditions present themselves. We will arrive before sunrise to a location where we will most likely photograph sandhill cranes flying out of their overnight roost or snow geese blasting off in golden light. We will likely take a break in the middle of the day and review some images. We will resume in the afternoon to photograph in the amazing late-afternoon light.

ITINERARY
The itinerary is subject to change and may be adjusted at any time in order to take advantage of certain weather or photographic conditions. One of my goals is to provide you with the best possible photographic opportunities. This means that I may need to adapt our schedule based on weather, light, wildlife behavior and my local knowledge.

We will meet in the mid-afternoon in Socorro, NM and spend the rest of the day photographing at Bosque del Apache
DEC 7
We will depart before sunrise and spend the morning photographing.
Mid-day Break
Resume photographing in the afternoon and return to Socorro after sunset

LODGING
Lodging is provided in Socorro, NM
EQUIPMENT
- A 500mm lens or more and any teleconverters is suggested
- Wide angle lens for any landscape photography
